A family visit to Japan. 家族が日本に来たよ。

Over the Obon Holiday my Mum and her partner came to Japan.
It had been a bit over 2 years since we last saw them so was really happy to have them here.
We did quite a lot of sightseeing.

One day we hiked to the top of Mt. Katsuragi. Mt. Katsuragi is just a 5 minute drive from our place.

We thought it was going to take a couple of hours to get to the top but surprisingly it only took us about 45 minutes.

Usually the views from the top of Mt. Katsuragi are amazing! You can see Mt. Fuji and the surrounding mountains and ocean.

Unfortunately for us though, it was a bit cloudy that day so we couldn't see Mt. Fuji.

At the top there is a pool for kids to swim in, a restaurant that serves the best Ice-cream ever, and also a Foot Hot Spring.

At this time of year I think it's a little too hot to use the Hot Spring, but I definitely recommend the Ice-cream. It's amazing!

We didn't have the energy to hike back down so we took the Rope-way to the bottom.

The Rope-way is a much faster route down and has beautiful views of the Izu area,  but I wouldn't recommend it if you're afraid of heights!!
